In its the twelfth edition, Afrovibes brings young pioneers and established talent in theater, dance, music and design from Southern Africa to the Netherlands, at a festival in days. A festival program with current topical performances rooted in young urban Africa: Raw, colorful, current, innovative. Afrovibes presents the dynamic cultural life of young urban Africa and connects with Dutch artists and audiences.
This year’s festival theme is focused on looking ahead, on Moving in Time, fit connecting, present and future. Artists from Africa as well as from The Netherlands look forward in time, ate possibilities to depart from Existing norms and traditions. They look at our freedom to be curious, to ask questions about present and future, to explore the boundaries of freedom and expression. Are we free to say what we want and to go wherever we want?
