A family concert in the beautiful Obrecht Church in honor of the 190th birthday of Henri Dunant.
The concert presents The Serenade for children and adults of the Japanese composer Uno. Artistic director Noriko Amano has put together a special program: the Dutch premiere of this serenade, lullabies from different countries and works by Bach and Vivaldi performed by baroque musicians from the Benelux Baroque Orchestra.
A special feature of the varied program of this concert is the combination of children’s songs and classical music. The program aims to promote the bond between children and adults.
Besides Noriko Amano on harpsichord and piano you can also hear her ten-year-old daughter Emily Amano van Baaren on violin, the Norwegian Elisabeth Opsahl on cornet, the Japanese Hidehiro Nakamura on recorder, the French bass Fernand Bernadi and the Japanese soprano Utako Arakawa.
During the break Japanese volunteers teach children in origami.
